Just figured I'd show you guys/gals a travel case I just had delivered. Actually had it for a couple of weeks now. (Been busy) This is for my cash set. Anyways it's a Seahorse 710 that I had custom foam done on carycases.com. It's the third 710 I've had done and second one I've posted and can't recommend them enough. I can't remember who but another member posted a 710 case recently that looked awesome. Here's mine...

How difficult was it to trace the contours in the foam, I know with Pelican they have the "pluck" foam, how is it with the SeaHorse case?

This a custom foam I did on software that is on the site. (Software?) Measure twice and design it how you like. It takes a few weeks for them to get it back to you but it's way worth it. The foam is way tougher than the pick n pluck but very protective and looks pro.

That's dead sexy. I really like that layout. I just might have to look into one of those. Is it possible/would you be willing to share that layout as a reference? Failing that, any chance you'd be willing to do a group buy?

I can't seem to locate the page to design the interior foam...can you share a link?

I can't say that I've ever been turned on by a case before, but we might be on to something here.

Thanks for sharing.

At work right now but I'll see if I can help later on tonight. Not sure how to share the layout.

What is this, a seahorse seashell party? Why wasn't I invited? Oh, I am in love with the seahorses. I fuckin love them. They're like all the clocks. Seahorse SEAHELL.

Yeah right, like doze tangs

(seriously though, VERY WELL DONE!! Love it)

I love it! I have been messing around on their website since I saw @RainmanTrail 's recent post on his custom 710 case and Wynn set (that might be the one your were thinking of). And yours is awesome and a little more "practical" with the main cutout made for racks instead of specific stacks. Would love to get your design specs as requested above!

Curious for anyone's response, but any reason for the seahorse over the pelican other than maybe price?

For example, I really like this pelican case and the interior dimensions are pretty much the same (but $50 more), and I think http://www.carrycasesplus.com/ can do a custom for for it too. Now back to looking at the pr0n above  :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, @RainmanTrail is the one.
The reason I use Seahorse cases over Pelican does have a lot to do with cost. It also has a lot to do with availability and practicality. The first case I had custom foam done for chips was using a Seahorse case that might have gotten "lost" at work. I had made cases for work equipment in the past (how I got idea for a custom chip case) using Pelican, Storm and Seahorse cases. All are super tough. Like throw it in the back of a pick up in the middle of a storm while driving up and down some muddy trails tough. Basically drop proof. That said, DO NOT DROP TEST YOURS. 600 chips are way heavier than the electronics we use at work. When I found some extra cases at work, I figured the Seahorse being significantly less expensive, would be the least "missed". When I recieved the foam for that fist case I was so impressed by the look and overkill of toughness, I thought it to be impractical to pay more for the nicer cases. The Seahorse case is just so nice and tough and has that serious business look when you walk into the room. That being said, the Seahorse is really just good enough when compared to the Pelican or Storm cases. The latter cases are way nicer. Fit and finish is is much, much cleaner. Materials feel and look a bit better. Handles are nicer. I personally like the Storm cases a bit better than Pelican because of the latches. Pelican latches are notoriously tough to open. Storm latches take a more modern and easier to open approach. Storm cases are made by Pelican I believe.
As far as sharing the design, I'm have no issues and think it's a very cool idea. I just don't know how to go about it. I'll call them tomorrow on my lunch break. Maybe they can turn that design into a link somehow that I can share....

Looks great, nice work. I love these cases. The quality is really top notch. The foam is fully customizable. Lots of different designs you could come up with. If you can imagine it, and if it fits inside the case dimensions, you can get it made.

Here's a pic of the one I had made for my Wynn set.

What I'd suggest is the company take your design and with your permission, offer that cutout as an item. Tell them they've hit a niche that they probably didn't even think about.

Thanks, I am going to look into that.

@chkmte @DJ Mack
So I've emailed back and forth with carrycases. The rep said that they can provide me with a design number or link that I can give you guys so that you can have access and permission to alter and purchase as you see fit. She also said that there is a group discount possible starting at 25 pieces but she did not have a quote because she would need to send it to the manufacturer to figure out the discount.
Things you guys might want to take into account are..... #1. Dimensions. As in the dimensions of the cases/racks and buttons. I'm using Chipco racks from Apache, buttons from OWPS and card cases from a website that closed down I think, and who's name I can't remember. (Name sounds like Cardgails) If everyone that wants a case has these same items then where good, if not they'll be and issue with fit as the cut outs are precise.
#2. Airtights. I can't imagine people want a cut out for 5 airtights as I've got in my case. I can easily redesign the case with out them and the buttons centered in the case if you guys desire.
Let me know what you think.
