2016 was the year of the Vlog craze. Trooper97 started this like 3 years ago in Vegas. There were other Vlogs, but few as popular. He was owning the 2+2 with a thread with millions of views. However, Trooper's vlogs have gotten stale, with the same old things episode after episode. Granted, I still watch them daily, but sheesh, ya want the guy to move from 1/2 to 2/5+ at some point... Also, he does very little hand analysis. So Andrew's vlogs are out like a month and he's got 25K subscribers, and it took Tropper like 2 years to hit 10k. I think this is mainly due to Andrew's inclusion of hand analysis into his Vlogs.
In late 2016, there were dozens of vlogs being produced. I think this is mainly due to Andrew's success. As Trooper's vlogs took years to accumulate 10k subs, I don't think many felt like this was toppable. With the rapid success of Andrew's vlogs, I think people thought they could also pull it off. However, this has had a negative affect on the vlog game, since now there's dozens of people filming at the table, and many not doing anything to be descreet or avoid filming other guests/staff, the Vegas poker rooms are all cracking down on the vlog filming... Sucks!
