Just received my CPS tournament chips. I was little surprised to see that the labels have a silver background. In all the pictures I've seen the labels look white. The silver doesn't look bad, but white backgrounds sure would have given the chips more pop (not to mention being closer to the originals).

I'm pretty sure china can't do white labels. Don't all china clays (dunes, pharaohs, etc), have this sliver hue?

I was a regular at a game about 8 years ago that used china clay Dunes, and I don't remember them being silver. They may have been, but they didn't stick in my memory that way.

I'm too lazy to post pictures especially since there are probably several out there but they are silver.

Source: I was staring at them when I said that

Every factory-manufactured china clay label ever produced has had a silver tint. And for whatever reason (cost, process limitations, ??), they have refused every request made to them to have it eliminated.

Hard for me to take a great pic on my phone in the light I get in my office. Not sure if this helps at all or does Joe's labels justice but I love them because they're super white.
