EPT expanding payouts in many tourneys to 20% of participants (1 Viewer)

It's the same old story. Pros (mostly young tournament pros) going to bitch that there isn't enough money on top. TD's will say they need more recreational players. Overall it is good for the health of the game. Poker tourneys need to be growing. Being stagnant is the same as dying. recreational players will be more likely to jump into a cash game after they bust (which is great because tourney and cash are completely different games), so pros need to look at the bigger picture and stop whining about their short term ROI and learn to play cash.

I wish more casinos would adopt the same thought process. Slot machines work by offering lots of little payouts, not by paying off once every 1.2 million pulls.

I completely think this is a good idea... Winning a poker tournament should be exciting, and a decent amount of money, but it doesn't need to be like winning the lottery winnings :p

Plus, the number of times that I see tournament money chopped, leads me to believe that very few are trying to make a living playing tournaments.
