Pit Games! Anything and everything... (1 Viewer)

Going to Foxwoods for a bachelor party tomorrow. Probably play a little bit a poker before I get drunk, then degen up in the pit games all night.

I have to say, some of my favorite casino memories have been while my friends and I take every seat at a blackjack table. 2 years ago for my bachelor party in vegas, I split a bachelor party with another friend and the group was about 22 people; we actually had 4 full tables all side by side playing blackjack

Share your stories, whats your go to pit game? Any big scores?

We partied at 3-card poker and craps...well, until Tony D starting shootin' dice with us and put the entire damn table on a cooler. It never failed the rest of the trip...we'd run hot, then Tony would show up and the dice would turn ice-cold for everyone as soon as he touched them. On the third night there for my buddy Joe's bachelor party we were shootin' dice before a show when Tony finally came down from the room & Joe saw him walking towards the table. Joe was already...well, he wasn't even sure if he had pants on at this point and it wasn't 7pm yet. He basically spotted Tony and shouted violent threats against Tony's life if he even looked at the dice.

We were asked to visit a different casino at that point.

On the flight home the next day, Joe couldn't fit in the lavatory to throw up. We all got to hear the angelic, guttural sounds of the groom heaving his sins into the commode while his ass & legs were sticking out the lavatory door.

Tears!

I'm a pretty massive craps degen. It's the most exciting pit game to me. Last week at the Borgata Summer Open I busted out of the Almighty Stack on Day 2, went an reg'd for the PLO tournament. 5 minutes into level 2 I bust quads over quads so I head over where my buddies are to play some craps. In an hour I took my $300 buyin to $4400, and my friend was up about $3k.

Then we took our money to Harrahs where I proceeded to punt off about $2k of it at craps there in an about 30 minutes. Got some back, so it ended up being a good week.

My favorite craps moment? $5 on 12, hitting it, pressing it and hitting it again. Hello $4650.

I wish I had the chance to play craps with my wife's grandfather before he passed. That was all he played. I've played it a few times with mixed results. Have been trying to learn more about it from all the chatter here about it.

I'm a pretty non-massive craps non-degen. I've played twice ever, but only for tiny amounts both times. This past weekend was my first pass at the @PAZ system and while I was betting my measly $200 the guy to my direct left was gambling yuge (well, yuge for me at least). His name was Ant.

When I first got on the table, he had about $2500 in front of him in greens, blacks, and a couple purples. He ran that up gradually until he had $20k in his rack. Then Ant tells me before the come out roll, "If this is a 6 I'm going to make $100k this roll." Shooter binked a 6 and Ant says quietly to me only, "Here we go."

I'll give him this: he was committed to his prophecy. He first spreads about $1k on the table on various horrible bets. When he hits a few on the first roll he says to the dealer, "Press everything." He hits a few next roll as well and when the dealer starts to pay him out he says, "Don't give me a dollar for the rest of the roll until I tell you. Press it all."

Eventually he ran his $1k up to about $10k before it all got wiped away.

Step 1 - go to pai gow table
Step 2 - ask dealer for house way puck
Step 3 - randomly put 2 cards in low hand (make sure to tip dealer for extra work)
Step 4 - order drinks, tip well when they arrive and order more
Step 5 - repeat 3&4

Older craps degens are the most fun people to watch imo. The retired ones with stacks on stacks are great. They'll dump 5k, leave for 15 minutes then come back with another 5k and repeat. But when they get on a hot streak it's a thing of beauty.

I deal dice every day and it really is a great game. Here is a simple (tried and true) betting strategy.
Get action on 3 or 4 different numbers then look to get those bets back. When you get paid 3 times start pressing ONE UNIT every time it hits. Don't press all the way, only one unit at a time. That way you don't put too much $ in the game to soon, and, you wont miss out when the hot hand comes

Whenever the point was 4 or 10 and I had the pass line and odds I would, as a $5 bettor, put down $22 and say '22 inside'. This gives you $5-$6-$6-$5 on those numbers. Best game ever.

Can't say I have a go to pit game because in general, I don't play them. The only regular exception is if I'm at a casino that plays hard to get with their chips Then I might buy in at a Blackjack table for 21 (2 5s and 11 1s please ... or if they're real dicks 3 5s and 6 1s). They think my $21 buy in is a superstitious ritual, but it's not. I then play a hand. Win or lose, I leave a dollar on the table and go cash out, neglecting to turn in the 5 or 10 $1s I still have remaining unless they're really nasty.

That said, it's a different story when I'm with a group. I don't have a preference and I'll join the group for just about anything. It's not about the game it's about the group experience. Some of the best times I've had have been pit games with horrible odds (4 card poker anyone?).

Learned the craps table for the first time on a slow Saturday afternoon 7 years ago at the Borg from a terrific, friendly dealer. Have loved it ever since.

He basically explained to me how most of the bets are horrible and even when people hit they don't understand how to bet in the first place, take money off the table at the right time or move it around to make it work for them after each hit, minimizing their risk and maxing their profit.

That being said, first 3 hours of my bachelor weekend 6 years ago saw me wander over to a $25 min bet table with my newfound craps knowledge from the prior year and drunkenly throw down $50 apiece on 5,6,8 and $25 on the field. Shooter held on for something like 9 or 10 rolls and quickly had the table utterly rocking. It was pure Hollywood: people mobbing around us, women jumping up and down, blowing on the dice, guys running over to the table trying to throw chips everywhere and threatening the dude if he tried to walk away from the heater... I let every bet ride like an idiot.

My thankfully-sober brother kept tugging my arm and telling me to take my bets down but I was so lost in the wave of exhilaration already. I needed to see one more throw. After yet another hit on 6 and total pandemonium, I racked up somewhere around $6K I think but stood to watch the next action. Very next roll was the loser.

I ended up rolling my brother, instead of the other way around, for the whole weekend, out of gratitude. All he wanted was a Starbucks and $15 Blackjack in the early morning. I love my brother. And craps.

lost a few hundred over the weekend

played mostly bj and texas holdem bonus

hit the Bonus with AA, got paid 30/1 with $5 on it. hand lost to flopped flush from the dealer, $300 swing from losing the hand.
