Both the snapper and the 500 buzz and sparkle electric. I don't see why the 20 cannot as well. Key west reminds me of Miami's South Beach (since I've never made it down to the Keys). It is full of conservative, with areas full of pop.

Besides the Canary/Light Chocolate makes the $1 look like a faded to shit $20.

So use the blue $1's. They're even less expensive.... ;)

Dennis, here's canary with light chocolate..... and I think I like it best of all:

Has a definite tropical look to it...

Just a thought:

Possible: (not definite yet): Once a year, we do Key West $20 chips. You can pick your color combination of base / spot, with the Key West $20 inlay.

My reasoning is this:

I don't think a $20 is really a traditional old 1960s Vegas chip anyway. But people who play cash games love $20s, and love having the $20 look different from the $25.

So rather than make a permanent addition of a particular $20 that half of us won't like, we could just say, "Create your $20 for your set."

Pretty easy to order, too. We just place the order using one inlay, the $20, and vary the base and spots.

The downside would be that there wouldn't be a standard Key West $20 chip. We'd have to wait for them, and pay CPC custom price, as there's no way I could eat 32 cents per chip on what would essentially be a special order.

Something to think about, anyway...

Or asking David about the possibility of a custom color for this chip?

Love the idea of a new $20. As owner of quite a few of the original 20's I was never really a fan of them. Too dark and subdued even though I've always loved the KW's for their low key design. Based on what has been shown so far my vote is for the chocolate spots on either DG Saturn or Canary (DG Saturn more so).

You can count me in for at least 100 of whatever you decide to go with.

Not sure if I'm a big fan of the pick your $20 chip offer but maybe it'll grow on me.

I'm glad to hear from you, Brian. I'm also anxious to hear from OldMan, ski_x5, RussB, Koosy, wOOzie, and Texasrambler and other owners of large sets.

I also appreciate all the help and suggestions from everyone who has posted above. Some own Key Wests, and others only just a few or none at all, but are still willing to give good suggestions.

I know each of you has given your best suggestions to make a chip that goes well with the existing Key West theme and doesn't look too similar to existing denominations. You should all know that I started with one clear idea, but your (very good) points and suggestions have changed my mind a dozen times.

I know we'll eventually come up with something really nice to add to the set. I'll continue to mock up the combinations you suggest with a Key West inlay to get a feel for how they'll look.

I know we'll strike gold here.

Coincidentally, just returned from Key West. The color combo most reminiscent of what you actually see there would be DG Saturn and light green, for sure. Lemon and lime.

(Though for my personal likes, I'd skip the new $20 and come up with a new $1. The $1 colors are the only reason I don't have a couple thousand of these chips...)

Have you tried the blue $1s? they're my favorite chip in the set. The 1-for-1 exchange on them is just an extra bonus because seriously, Dennis is never getting mine back.

Really like both saturn/green and saturn/tiger. Could definitely be persuaded by saturn/light green also if not for the light green spot on the hundo.

If you are going to do a $20 chip shouldn't you also consider a $10 chip as well? I know in my game ( a $10-20 limit game) we love a $10 chip. We use a $5 and a $10 chip. I also have some $25 chips but they hardly ever get used. If we had a $20 chip I think it would get used as much as the $5 and $10. Just a thought.

I would consider a $10 if people were interested in getting some.

That said, the conventional wisdom holds that if we do a $20, we should definitely not do a $10. Generally, you should have a factor of four or five between your denominations ($1, $5, $25, $100) Your game is, of course, an exception, and that's OK, too.

When they were introduced in 2004, the Key West denominations were $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1,000 and $5,000. (Those are very traditional old casino denominations.)

I've tried to be careful about adding denominations that are traditional (the $2.50 for blackjack, for example). I also think about which denominations will appear on the table together, and which ones won't. (nickels for micro-cash and $25,000 for high-value tournaments).

The $20 is popular at cash tables, particularly the cash table set up for those who bust out of a tournament. A $20 chip at the cash table ensures that the $25s used in the tournament can't be used at the cash table. So I got several requests for the $20s, and made some in 2013. So we have the $20 inlay, on file at Classic Poker Chips, ready to go. All we have to do is tell them what color chips to put it on.

And you see how difficult it will be to decide.

Just wondering if a decision was ever made on the $20 chip colors?

There are so many good options and no real consensus yet on a $20. I've decided to wait a bit on the new $20 and bring it out either later this year or early 2017.
